Best Winston Salem Wedding Venues

Here are the BEST wedding venues in and around Winston Salem. As a wedding photographer in North Carolina, I’m frequently getting asked by brides and grooms where they should get married. I wanted to compile a list of my personal favorites so that I can easily send this their way. If you love classic architecture, bright white estates, and gorgeous gardens, then these venues should be right up your alley!

1. The Crest

A modernized Victorian style venue, right in downtown Winston Salem. Within walking distance or a short uber ride for hotels, this location is unbeatable! The house provides plenty of space for getting ready and unique photo backdrops. The outdoor courtyard is the perfect spot for ceremonies and cocktail hour. Their newly built carriage house is a beautiful space for receptions, seating up to 150 people.

2. The Barn at Reynolda Village

Forget everything you’ve ever pictured about a barn wedding, this venue is bright, elegant, and sophisticated. The venue is located in the Reynolda Historic district, and allows you access to the Reynolda Gardens and the exterior grounds of the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. You can get married in the gardens right outside the conservatory, take some newly-wed photos outside of the private gardens by the museum, then head on over to your reception at the barn, which can fit up to 130 guests.    

3. The Little Chapel at Haven Ridge

This venue is nothing short of magical! The Little Chapel, a stone chapel with stained glass windows, is the perfect place to hold your ceremony. While they do specialize in elopements and micro weddings, the chapel can have up to 90 people seated. If your wedding is a bit larger, you can utilize the Solarium, which can host up to 125 guest for ceremony or reception. There are also many options for outdoor spaces on their 50+ acres of land. Additionally, they have some suites and stays for you or your out of town guests.

4. Triple J Manor House

A charming, restored 1800s farmhouse turned wedding venue. The Knoll is the perfect ceremony space for a bit of woodsy, rustic charm. The scenery makes the perfect backdrop for portraits at any angle. The spacious ballroom inside comfortably holds 150 seated guests for reception. Located in Mocksville, it’s 25 minutes from downtown Winston.

5. The Finch House

This historical mansion is an elegant choice, with renaissance revival architecture and a green terracotta roof, it’s sure to match any color or style for your wedding. Located in Thomasville, a 30 minute drive from Winston Salem.

6. The Holt House

This venue is an 1800s Greek revival style home with unique indoor getting ready or cocktail hour spaces. Outdoors they have the patio, gardens, and open air pavilion. They are located in downtown Lexington, NC.

7. Winmock at Kinderton

For those that love the barn aesthetic, but still want it to feel modern and elegant, this one is for you. This venue has large indoor spaces perfect for a bigger wedding or reception, with plenty of options for outdoor festivities.

8. Graylyn

Truly one of the best venues in Winston Salem, Graylyn estate feels like a castle, which makes your wedding feel even more like a fairytale. The stone exterior makes for a stunning background, and there are so many locations for photo opportunities. Between the sprawling gardens and historical buildings, this venue is an absolute must see. It is also a hotel, so your guests won’t have to worry about where they’re going to stay after the party!

9. Magnolia Hill Chapel

This elegant chapel is the perfect option if you’re wanting to get married in a church, but don’t have a church of your own to call home, or prefer a building that is set up for weddings. The chapel seats 150 guest. The venue is surrounded by quiet countryside.
